Organoids, to put it briefly and simply, are miniature replicas of humanorgans and tissues : they are derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) or from adult cells and tissues, including cancerous ones. They represent an important tool for personalised medicine and drug testing in general. At present, the legalframework is lacking and the focus is rather on ethical and privacy issues. The essay focuses on the legal framework, seeking qualifying answers that can combine research development and protection of the individual.
